MB Bäuerle is going to show two versions of the fold module for the production of package inserts for the pharmaceutical, cosmetics and packaging industry at the leading fair for the packaging industry Interpack which will be held in Düsseldorf / Germany from May 4 – May 10, 2017 (Hall 16, Stand F21). Both fold units are available for the integration into cartoning and packaging machines and as stand-alone fold modules.

The main feature of the leafletFOLDER NET 21 is its end-to-end automation. All the important settings are made by means of the touch-screen display. Four automatic fold plates with integrated deflectors allow all common small folds down to a minimum fold length of 15 mm. 16 types of fold are permanently programmed and immediately retrievable – all other folds are freely programmable by entering the required information. Setting the fold rollers is also automated and even the code readers move to a defined position by pushing a button. The computer control makes it possible to save the positions of the fold plate stops, deflectors and code readers and to reset them automatically as required. Thus up to 200 repetitive jobs can be accurately reproduced, which is particularly useful when handling low volumes. As an option it is possible to equip the fold module with professional scoring devices and a diverter. A network interface permits the complex integration of the leaflet folder software into the control of cartoning and packaging machines.

Another exhibit presented by MB Bäuerle is the manual leafletFOLDER 21. This fold module combines innovative technology with maximum efficiency. It is driven by low-noise, maintenance-free flat belts. The swivel-mounted feed table ensures excellent accessibility. The leaflet transport module is extendable and easily removable. The large read area allows the integration of all code reading systems as well reading from the top and the bottom. The manual fold unit with four fold plates is easy to handle. Fold plate and dummy plate form a single unit, thus it is unnecessary to install additional deflectors. Even multilayer, pre-folded inserts can be reliably processed.
