Galileo Nanotech Unique Solution Opens Up New Opportunities for Labeling and Packaging
Earlier this month the first lot of selectively metallized paper and carton was manufactured with the unique technology Flexomet© at the Galileo Coating Technologies factory which is a part of Galileo Nanotech holding.
Selective metallization opens up wide opportunities to companies striving to stand out its product on a store shelf providing a unique alternative for package and label design. Confectionary, diary, beer, alcohol, cosmetics and other industries may benefit from advantages provided by selective metallization to packaging.
An exclusive technology of selective metallization Flexomet© which is similar to a full metallization is a process of chosen material coating by metal layer performed in a vacuum chamber. However the difference is that selective metallization process applied only to selective areas of the material allowing for creation of pictures and texts on a metallized surface.
A method is based on preliminary covering of material certain areas by dedicated protective oil layer preventing formation on the surface a structure responsible for creation of full metallized layer.
Both full and selective vacuum metallized paper has stable printing and technical properties. It can be used for various printing technologies such as offset, gravure and flexography printing. Paper possesses good ink adhesion, high stability for post-printing operations including cutting, die-cutting and hot stamping. Additionally such paper can be perfectly used for all types of glue systems while paper base meets the requirements of high-speed labeling equipment.
