In February PP production in Russia reduced
In February Russian polypropylene (PP) producers reduced output to 52.7 KT while imports increased up to 16 KT, according to MRC ScanPlast. One of the main reasons for decrease in overall PP output was that February is the shortest month in the year.
At the same time insignificant technical problems at some production sites were observed – this also had an effect on final production. In the beginning of the month some problems were marked at Stavrolen.
On the contrary, Ufaorgsyntez last month increased PP production by 1.5 KT at the expense of propane-propylene deliveries form external suppliers.
In February imports to the Russian market grew more than by 3 KT and made 16 KT. Raffia deliveries from Turkmenistan grew almost twice compared to January and exceeded 6 KT. Insignificant decrease in deliveries last month was fixed fronm the second biggest Russian supplier – Linik (ÒÍÊ-ÂÐ Group). PP import deliveries from other suppliers remained without considerable changes.
