Carnaby Brown - Fruity Start of the Evening Drink
Branding and design agency wonderlandWPA has taken an innovative approach to brand design in the drinks industry. Twelve months ago the agency was approached by entrepreneur Aisling Young, which needed an agency with true drinks experience to work with her to design the identity, look and feel and packaging for a new drinks brand Carnaby Brown.
Fresh to market, it has been inspired by the women it was created for: 20-30 year olds who want an ideal “start of the evening drink”; whether getting ready with friends, meeting up after work or enjoying a relaxed afternoon drink at the weekend.
There are two variants of Carnaby Brown, White and Rosé. Made to an exclusive recipe it is a delicious blend of perry, white and muscat grape. At 5.5% abv, Carnaby Brown has the fruity refreshing taste and sessionability of premium beer or cider AND, served in an elegant 75cl Bordeaux-style bottle.
Aisling Young identified a gap in the market for a drink that women were looking for. Says Aisling: “We had a truly blank canvas on which to develop the perfect taste. By talking and listening to women all over the country we identified what they wanted: a drink that was fruity, refreshing and slightly sparkling, an abv that delivers the drinkability of premium cider with the sophistication and sociability of wine. They wanted something they could share with friends from the start of the evening, which was refreshing and light to drink and contributed to the fun of the evening. In Carnaby Brown they have this. ”
The Carnaby Brown brand design is stylish, elegant and slightly retro. It evokes all that women love about London and captures the essence of girls’ nights in or out. The design, especially the lettering style, is a wonderful balance between heritage and female elegance. It has standout in a very crowded market where girly pink flowers are often the default design option.
Carnaby Brown will be available from a growing number of leading bars, restaurants, clubs and off licences throughout Great Britain and Northern Ireland from 8 April.
