UPAKOVKA/UPAK ITALIA 2009 on growth course
Specialist ancillary programme to round out the showcase of 350 exhibitors UPAKOVKA/UPAK ITALIA, Russia’s premier trade fair for packaging technology, continues on its growth course. From 27 to 30 January 2009, over 350 exhibitors will gather to present their innovations in the fields of packaging machinery, confectionery machinery, packaging, packaging aids and logistics on a net floor space of 8,000 square metres at the ZAO Expocenter in Krasnaya Presnya, Moscow. This adds up to an event that will significantly top its predecessor.
Altogether companies from more than 20 countries will take the floor and official national participations from Germany, France, the UK, Italy and Turkey have been announced. Exhibitors are set to benefit from the ongoing boom in demand for packaging technology – the packaging sector is experiencing double-digit growth in Russia on the back of expansion in the sales markets for consumer goods. According to a study carried out by PricewaterhouseCoopers, the country still only has some two percent of the global packaging production capacity, which means that local suppliers are unable to meet the high growth recorded in domestic demand.
An interesting ancillary programme will round out the exhibitors’ offerings at UPAKOVKA/UPAK ITALIA 2009. International associations will welcome visitors to talks on topical packaging industry subjects, a technology forum will be dedicated especially to students and exhibiting companies will highlight innovative products and solutions in seminars. What’s more, exhibitors and trade visitors will be able to use the business center as a job market and meeting point for forging contacts. Students doing various packaging-related courses will also be on site to answer specific queries. Coordinated by Messe Düsseldorf in cooperation with its subsidiary Messe Düsseldorf Moscow OOO and the Italian organiser Centrexpo, UPAKOVKA/UPAK ITALIA will open its doors for the 17th time already in Moscow in 2009. Staged adjacent to INTERPLASTICA, the International Trade Fair Plastics and Rubber, the trade fair will fill Pavilion 2/1 to 2/3 of the Moscow fairgrounds to capacity. The two events will once again run concurrently, thus providing visitors with a comprehensive overview of both growth industries.
