RPC Bramlage Brings "Magic" To Boots
The proven functional and aesthetics benefits of RPC Bramlage-Wiko`s Magic Star and Magic SL dispensers are playing a vital role in the launch of a men`s range of personal care products under the renowned Boots No. 7 brand.
With Boots No. 7 already a major name in female personal care, Boots made the decision to extend the brand into the men`s sector with a new range of eleven products. “We identified a gap in the market for a high-quality men`s range,” explains Steven Rolfe, Packaging Technologist, at Boots. “With men taking more care of their grooming needs than ever before, the time is right to bring them the proven qualities of the No.7 name.”
Boots was keen to use packaging that could combine exceptional functionality with a strong image. “As a premium range, Boots No. 7 For Men needs differentiation, both from rival products on the market and also from the successful women`s range. We therefore wanted packaging designs that combined a masculine image with effective, no-fuss use that will dispense the right amount of product first time,” Steven comments.
“After looking at the various options, we realised that the Magic Star range from RPC Bramlage-Wiko suited all of our needs,” he adds.
The Magic family of dispensers is designed to ensure the controlled dosing and hygienic application of creams, gels and lotions across a range of viscosities. The ingenious and easy-to-use airless dispensing system provides the required amount of product in one measure, avoiding the inconvenience of multiple dispenses, while its unique design means it can continue to operate smoothly even if air is trapped in the container.
The Magic Star has been selected in a number of different sizes to suit the specific needs of four products in the range. A compact 50ml size is used for Gradual Tan Face SPF 15 and Anti Ageing Balm SPF 15. The 150ml variant has been specified for Anti Friction Shave Gel, while the larger 200ml size is ideal for Gradual Tan Body.
For another product in the range – Protect & Perfect Anti Ageing Serum – Boots recognised that the sister dispenser, the slimline Magic SL, would be ideal. This has been supplied in the smaller 30ml size.
All five products have been colour matched in pearlised gold and silk screen printed in three colours to provide the eye-catching effect seen across the Boots No. 7 For Men range.
“The tactile feel of the printing enhances the attractive appearance of the dispensers to provide a suitably premium image for the Boots No. 7 For Men launch,” concludes Steven Rolfe.
