A new joint venture company has been launched in Bulgaria to deliver better localised service and a wider range of bag-in-box packaging and filling systems in South Eastern Europe.

The new enterprise, called Rapak AD, is the first dedicated global supplier of bag-in-box technology in the region and brings together the local expertise of Herti-M, a Bulgarian packaging specialist for the wine and food industry, and the market knowledge and experience of Rapak, a leading worldwide supplier of bag-in-box liquid packaging systems.

This combination will enable Rapak AD to reach a greater number of potential customers in different industries, offering improved flexibility, faster service due to short delivery times, closer contact and a better response to customers' needs.

Rapak AD is able to supply a comprehensive range of bag-in-box packaging, filling systems and other related services, meeting the growing demand for this type of packaging from customers throughout the region. Bag-in-box's efficient, versatile and cost-effective liquid packaging format continues to generate interest from a diverse range of end markets including wine, water, soft drinks, foods, and chemicals.

The Head Office of the new business will be in Shoumen, Bulgaria.
