New Pack Style from Sigpack Systems at Total
The Swiss packaging machine manufacturer Sigpack Systems, a Bosch Packaging Technology Company, has developed the Pull Pack, a new packaging concept which presents the consumer with a quicker, cleaner and simpler experience.
The Pull Pack is practical, clean and quickly opened in a controlled manner. Suitable for packaging a wide range of products traditionally packaged using flow-wrapping technology, the product is held in one hand and a simple tug on the seal fin of the other, shorter end opens the pack. For consumers on the go, the top of the pack can be bitten off. Hygiene is preserved, as the product does not have to be touched and remains covered with the remaining half of the pack.
The controlled opening of the pack, and the clearly defined pull-off section of the packaging, opens up a raft of possibilities for marketing. For example, the pull-off section could be used as a collectable token for promotions and competitions. Co-sponsoring for advertising events, products and brands is also simplified. This provides opportunities for manufacturers to easily take advantage of proven means of repositioning brands and raising sales.
Although a unique take on the flow wrap pack, Pull Pack is not an entirely new style of packaging. Rather, this opening mechanism is an innovative development of an existing, widely used and well-established packaging method. As such, Pull Pack requires no new process and limited new machinery. All Pull Pack necessitates is one additional module for existing flow-wrapping machines from Sigpack Systems.
