gruppofabbri.com is a "Zero Impact Web" site
According to a 2020 study by the Royal Society reported by the World Economic Forum, if the Internet were a nation, it would be the fourth most polluting in the world.
Each search on the Internet is in fact responsible for releasing 1.7/2 grams of CO2 into the atmosphere, while simply sending an email can result in the production of 4 to 50 grams of carbon dioxide if the attachments are large.
According to the Royal Society’s study, data centre energy consumption would amount to 1 per cent of global energy demand and digital would contribute between 1.4 per cent and 5.9 per cent of the world’s CO2 emissions. For comparison, air traffic contributes 2%.
For this reason, Fabbri Group has renewed its adhesion to the Zero Impact Web project promoted by LifeGate, a benefit company that is a reference point for sustainability in Italy, also for its new site: in this way, the CO2 attributable to traffic generated by user visits will be offset through the purchase of carbon credits from the forestry sector as part of the “Madagascar” project, which provides for the creation and protection of growing forests.
