Segezha Group's industrial packaging facility in Romania completes its first FSC certification

28.10.2021

The Segezha Packaging facility in Ploiești, Romania has just obtained its first FSC (FSC Licensecode: FSC-C018056) international certificate. It became the fifth of the company's seven production locations in Europe to pass the voluntary forest certification, including Denmark, the Netherlands, Germany and Italy.

BM Certification, an independent certification body, carried out the evaluation of the Segezha Packaging facility’s compliance with FSC® requirements. By obtaining the certificate, the company has reaffirmed its commitment to sustainable forestry product sourcing, including legal origin of the raw materials.

'Our goal is to achieve FSC® certification at all our industrial packaging production facilities in Europe. The high standards for responsible forest management are essential part of our business operations and fully respected and implemented by the Group. By offering certified products, we also empower our customers to make more responsible choices. ‘says Rinat Stark, Segezha Packaging CEO.

Since the beginning of this year, Segezha Packaging Romania has also been working towards an ambitious expansion project. This includes a new production facility and warehouse, modernization of the existing machinery and latest state-of-art production line. According to the project timeline, the building will be completed in November 2021. Following the machinery installation, necessary tests and employee training, the production will start in March 2022.
