St.Petersburg Cardboard-Polygraphic Plant upgrades production facilities
St.Petersburg Cardboard-Polygraphic Plant is upgrading its production facilities. As a result of the upgrade, the plant may account for 10% of the Russian cardboard market. The cost of the projects exceeds EUR80mln. In Aug-Sep 2004 the plant will hold a tender to select an equipment suppler. The upgraded plant is expected to produce 320,000 tons of cardboard a year. As a result, the plant may see its share of the North-West market grow from the current 55% to 80%. Besides, the project is designed to meet the demand of the growing cardboard market. Currently, cardboard demand is mainly covered by import. Finnish Stromsdal, M-Real, Sweden-Finnish StoraEnso and Sweden Fiskeby Board are the key cardboard suppliers.
