Superlock® Shortlisted for Swedish Packaging Award
RPC Superfos’s SuperLock® food container has been shortlisted in the consumer category of the Swedish Packaging Industry Awards, the winners of which will be announced at the Scanpack trade fair in Gothenburg next week.
The injection moulded polypropylene pot, produced by RPC Superfos Region Nordic, is being used by retailer ICA Sverige AB for jam. The SuperLock® solution has successfully replaced a glass jar.
ICA’s nomination sums up the benefits of the pack:
"We swap glass packaging with plastic packaging. We get a new packaging solution that both accommodates the consumers’ demand and is environmentally friendly. The new pot is easy to open and re-close; it can be re-used and is suitable for dishwasher, microwave oven and freezer. Further, plastic holds less weight than the traditional jar made of glass so it is better for the environment in terms of transport. The new pack is also easier to handle for our staff at the shops and easier for the consumer to bring home. In short, it is a pack of which we are very proud.”
Per Sollenby, Sales Director Food, RPC Superfos Region Nordic, is excited about the nomination of the already multi-award winning SuperLock® pack:
"The nomination for the Consumer Packaging Award is wonderful. We hope to go all the way in Sweden.”
A jury consisting of experts with extensive experience within the packaging industry will select winners in four categories, who will be announced on 21 October during Scanpack. The competition is arranged by the Swedish trade periodical PackMarknaden.
