RPC Named Company of the Year at UK Packaging Awards

Rigid plastics packaging specialist RPC Group has been named Company of the Year at the recent UK Packaging Awards, with one judge commenting that the company "continues to set the standard for the packaging industry.”

In their citation, the judges named RPC "a star performer…demonstrating a fine set of results and a strategy that is reaping awards.” In 2013, the company launched its Vision 2020 focused growth strategy, which comprises three major strands: organic growth; acquisitions in Europe; and establishing a meaningful presence outside Europe.

RPC continues to invest in its existing businesses. In addition, its ongoing Sustainability Matters programme is aimed at reducing energy consumption at all sites through a series of efficiency projects, ranging from the installation of energy-saving lighting, to major investment in energy-efficient processing machinery and cooling systems.

All of which, concludes the judges’ citation, "adds up to a deserved winner.”

The UK Packaging Awards are organised by leading trade publication Packaging News and are unique in recognising every area of the packaging supply chain. The event is now in its ninth year and in that time has become the leading packaging awards event in the UK market.

The judging process is strictly impartial and the categories reward a broad range of areas including packaging quality and consistency, business strategy, financial performance and personal achievement.

The awards were presented at a glittering ceremony held at the London Hilton on Park Lane.
