Tetra Pak Dairy Hubs: Local solutions for global challenges

One way Tetra Pak is driving innovation across the value chain is through its Dairy Hub programme, which supports the development of the dairy industry in developing countries.

In a new vodcast, Ulla Holm, director of Tetra Pak’s Food for Development Office, explains how the Dairy Hubs programme connects local small holder farmers in developing countries with government agencies and industry partners to maintain their existence while reaping the many benefits of volume production.

By creating milk collection points, Dairy Hubs create a more effective collection network, with more milk collected faster, delivering high volume of supplies of fresh milk. For the first time smaller dairy farmers have ‘firepower’ to break into the processed milk market and local communities flourish nutritionally, economically and environmentally.
