Unilever and Danone Waters confirmed to speak at AMI's thin wall packaging conference
AMI is pleased to announce that the 6th international conference on Thin Wall Packaging will take place from 6-8 December 2011 at the Maritim Hotel in Cologne, Germany.
The conference focus is on lightweight plastics packaging tubs, cups, trays, jars and pots. It looks at storage and functionality of plastics materials in protecting and preserving items such as meat, yoghurt, margarine, fruit and vegetables, dairy, fish, soup, and ready meals.
This year’s programme has gathered together a panel of international expert speakers which will cover key issues for the industry.
The conference will start with a keynote presentation from Dr. Philippe Diercxsens, Packaging and Environment Manager at Danone Waters discussing packaging sustainability through legal, technical and commercial constraints, followed by a paper from Dr. Frederic Dreux of Unilever asking if there is beauty in downgauging.
There will be a market overview from AMI’s Head of Strategic Research Jon Nash as well as papers from Promens Stilling A/S about thin wall combi packaging and from Plastic Technologies Inc. on pushing boundaries for 2 compartment PET containers.
In the material section the audience will be hearing the latest about foam trays from Coopbox Group S.p.A., clear polypropylene from Milliken Europe BVBA., Rigid packaging from Dow Chemical Iberica S.L. and the latest in glass replacement technology with a paper from Norner A/S.
The new technology session has papers from Nestal Maschinen AG, Sabic, GR8 Engineering Ltd, Kiefel GmbH, Kilde A/S Automation and Fraunhofer IVV.
There will be a session on legislation and standards covered by BRC Global Standards and Keller and Heckman LLP as well as a barrier packaging session with presentations from EDV Packaging, Printing Company Verstraete and Kuraray-Eval Europe.
Thin Wall Packaging 2011 offers a meeting point for the industry to debate business trends and improvements in packaging technology. The event is expected to attract over 170 participants, providing a unique opportunity to network with the wide range of professionals involved with the plastics packaging industry at all levels of the supply chain
