Interpack 2011: High expectations fulfilled - "Save Food" congress successful

Rarely have the general economic conditions for a trade fair been as good as for interpack 2011.

Accordingly, the exhibiting manufacturers in the plastics packaging industry had high expectations. These expectations have been completely fulfilled, the IK Industrievereinigung Kunststoffverpackungen e. V. concludes after the fair. ”The industry in total has been very satisfied with this year’s interpack, and there has been particular praise of the high quality of visitors,” says managing director Ulf Kelterborn.

Plastics are more popular than ever. This is demonstrated by the even stronger dominance of plastic packaging at interpack 2011 in comparison to earlier trade fairs. Many of the exhibiting IK members not only presented themselves with bigger stands, but also with new, modern stand concepts.

The IK is pleased with how the congress ’Save Food‘ went. During the course of the congress, it became clear that protecting food with suitable packaging does not only have an important social function, but also is important from the point of view of climate protection and saving resources. From the point of view of the IK, this event has shown that the most sustainable property of a packaging is the product protection it provides. Plastic packaging with its varied protection properties does particularly well in this area.
