Greiner Packaging goes Germany
As early as in May 2010, Greiner Packaging and the owner of Expan, HHD Holding GmbH, reached an agreement. They announced their plans on the takeover of Expan. Upon positive antitrust investigations, the operative takeover of the facilities in Wernberg (Austria) and Rastatt (Germany) by Greiner Packaging will take place on 01 July 2010.
As a result of this transaction, Rastatt is becoming Greiner Packaging’s first own production location in Germany. Willi Eibner, CEO of Greiner Packaging International, is pleased to say: “Rastatt in Baden-Württemberg is located in the midst of one of the most competitive, most innovative and strongest economic regions in Europe. Also from the logistical point of view, a location in the southwest of Germany is ideally suited to our demands and to our customers’ needs.”
In addition, Eibner underscores the positive consequences for customers: “In the branch, Expan is regarded as an extraordinarily quality-oriented supplier, and is therefore perfectly suited to Greiner Packaging. In particular, in the pharmaceuticals and cosmetics sectors, vast synergies will be a result. Former customers of Expan will profit from Greiner Packaging’s strengths. At the same time, we will be able to further extend our range of offers to our regular customers thanks to Expan’s comprehensive range of products and services.“
