Pepsi to boost US bottle recycling to 50% by 2018
PepsiCo wants to help increase beverage container recycling rates to 50% in the US by 2018, according to a new report the beverage maker published this week.
In the report the company committed itself to establishing partnerships to increase US beverage container recycling, among other environmental goals.
The commitment was developed in cooperation with Boston-based Walden Asset Management and San Francisco-based As You Sow.
To reach the recycling goal, PepsiCo intends to work with other industry leaders in support of existing programmes that increase consumer recycling while also developing new programmes, partnering with bottlers, communities, suppliers, governmental entities and non-governmental organisations.
