GABLER Thermoform GmbH & Co. KG will be present at the 18th International trade fair for machinery and equipment for the manufacture of packaging in Moscow.

GABLER is one of the world's leading manufacturers of thermoforming machines for the packaging industry, with its main focus on food packaging.

The range of products reaches from compact stand-alone machines to large manufacturing plants including extrusion and integration of downstream processes. For almost 35 years, 200 employees using modern equipment and technology have been developing and manufacturing machinery whose quality, performance and reliability is setting world standards.

The GABLER team will provide information about innovations and further developments in the following areas:

The M-line, the well-known tilt machine series from GABLER Thermoform in Lübeck is unbeaten throughout the world and the handling systems are also in great demand for thermoforming machines from competitive manufacturers.

The new M60 with a forming-area of 500 x 320 mm completed the solid and experienced tilting technology – top quality with simple methods included high flexibility for the adaptation of existing goods. Furthermore additional variants are still available such as the M72 which can use a maximum of 3-row tools, the M92 X with a broader forming area, the M92 L with a longer heater for maximum cycle rates, and in combination as the XL model.

One of the GABLER highlights at this year’s UPAKOVKA will be the new version thermoformer M92 - a successful and a logical further development of the tilt machine technology whose original and subsequent development was decisively influenced by GABLER. The M92 offers an increased cycle rate and highly reliable tilting-platen technology with trim-in-place tools for the production of high quality PP, HIPS and PET cups and containers. The M92 is now available with an increased performance and for high output of articles up to 170 mm deep. Special features include further developments in tool technology: air saving technology, optimized drive components, and the 2.7-meter-long heater in the automatic thermoforming machine. The tool enables output rates of more than 60,000 PP water cups per hour.

An enhancement of this machine design culminates in the M93 and the M98. The M98 with a forming area of 800 x 550 mm breaks new limits in the tilt technology sector.

Another highlight of the GABLER technology will be the Focus - an enhancement of its own product range. This development meets the customers’ requirement for using minimum-cost tools with multi-station technology. Special attention was given in this respect to maximum clamping forces and plane parallelism in the forming and punching station, with high machine availability over a wide range of products also being ensured by a sophisticated tool change system. To implement these requirements an innovative counter-rotation concept was developed for the drive motors which ensures extremely smooth running of the focus (form cut and stack) thermoforming machines. The new technology also guarantees economical production of polypropylene and APET bowls and lids. Thanks to the optimisation of all movements and the use of the latest servo drive and control technologies the focus scores with previously unachieved output rates and a high degree of flexibility.

The proven VARIUS SR L.

This machine model has been optimized for use of tools with in station steel rule technology. The stacking and counting device as well as the forming and punching station with great stability and a maximum clamping force of 850 kN enable the operator to use third-party tools from similar machine models of other manufacturers as well as the tools designed specifically for this machine. The possible output rate of the VARIUS SR L has been increased even more by the enlargement of the forming area and a heater length of up to 3.6 meter.

Additional special feature will be the SWING - the most compact and flexible trim-in-place machine. In terms of applications the SWING is an extremely flexible automatic thermoforming machine for production of bowls, cups and lids with an article height of up to 125 mm using a forming area of 430 x 180 mm.
