The innovations of UPAKOVKA/UPAK ITALIA 2010: HEUFT innovations for maximum product quality

01.12.2009

HEUFT SYSTEMTECHNIK GMBH will be showcasing innovations which point the way with systems for wrap-around labelling, empty bottle inspection, leak-age checks and full container checks in the German Pavilion at the UPAKOVKA / UPAK ITALIA 2010 exhibition. They can be experienced in action from 26 to 29 January 2010 on Stand 21-B14 in Hall 2 of the ZAO Expocentre in Krasnaya Presnya, Moscow.

The HEUFT TORNADO R a newly developed labelling machine, equipped with a servo-controlled belt drive for the exact application of wrap-around labels and highly efficient technologies for a final product check, is the highlight of the exhibition presence. The belt rotates bottles and jars harmoniously so that the labels entwine them completely - without creases and with the least possible offset at the overlap. It automatically adapts itself to different container sizes in the same way as the up to six nozzles which can be activated individually for the initial gluing. The result: par-ticularly simple and fast brand changes. The closed hot glue system reduces the glue consumption of the HEUFT TORNADO R and increases its operational reliabil-ity. The integrated control cabinet makes fast and uncomplicated installing and commissioning possible. Optional additional features ensure the highest standards of reliability and quality for a thorough final product check.

Furthermore the latest model of the HEUFT InLine empty bottle inspector, which al-ready caused a sensation when premiered at drinktec 2009, can be seen at the UPAKOVKA 2010 exhibition. It examines the critical finish areas of empty containers even more thoroughly: three different-coloured rings of light are now projected from above onto the bottle opening instead of one. Their reflections are specifically analysed so that even the smallest cracks on the ring surface or in the inner or underchip area are reliably identified. The further developed fourfold sidewall inspection of the new HEUFT InLine detects glass faults, foreign objects and contamination particularly precisely. Furthermore the device provides tried and tested functions for a base and thread inspection as well as the specific detection of residual liquid, mineral rings and rust rings. Current improvements to the HEUFT reflexx technology for image processing increase the detection accuracy of the HEUFT InLine and reduce the false rejection rate to less than 0.5 percent.

The new, fully automatic HEUFT squeezer QS leakage check tracks down even the smallest leaks in plastic packages using a comparative measurement of the fill level and the container resistance in a compressed and non-compressed condition. This precludes contamination and prevents containers with leaks, with contents which may be bad, from endangering the health of the consumer. In addition the compact device monitors the correct positioning and integrity of the closures as well as the presence of metal foil covers. Faulty containers are reliably detected and immedi-ately removed from the production flow. Brand changes are carried out quite simply at the push of a button due to a servo-controlled adjustment of belts and measuring bridges. Because once the brand adjustments of the leakage check have been taught in they can be reproduced completely automatically at any time. This practi-cally excludes operating errors.

The HEUFT basic carries out an extensive full container check. Whether infrared, high frequency or X-ray technology - the compact device inspects the fill levels of all types of containers with the most suitable method in each case. Varied functions for checking the closure and the labels, measuring the internal container pressure and monitoring the filler valves perfect the extensive performance of the system which is produced in series and is extremely good value for money. In addition a bottle burst detection can be integrated which identifies broken bottles in the filler, removes broken glass and rejects burst bottles as well other containers which may be contaminated. The serial fault detection which is available as an option emits a switch-off pulse as soon as the number of detected faults exceeds a freely definable threshold.

HEUFT will be presenting itself with these innovations at the UPAKOVKA 2010 exhibition as the leading manufacturer of high performance automation solutions for the sustainable quality assurance of all types of empty and full containers. Exhibition visitors can see the impressive performance of the new and further developments, which will be presented live, for themselves in the German Pavilion (Hall 2 / Stand 21-B14). Our competent exhibition team will be pleased to answer questions re-garding these and other innovative control, inspection, container transport and labelling systems from HEUFT.
