IK president Bernhard Borgardt turns 65

On October 31st, Bernhard Borgardt, president of the German Association for Plastics Packagings and Films and the Trade Association for European Plastics Converters (EuPC), celebrateshis 65th birthday.

Graduate economist Bernhard Borgardt has been working in the plastics packaging industry for over 40 years, starting out at Bebo Plastik GmbH in Bremervörde, a company owned by his parents, and later in several major packaging companies, such as PLM, Schmalbach-Lubeca and most recently in the board of directors of RPC Group.

Mr. Borgardt is a voluntary member in various bodies in the plastics packaging industry. Since 1993, he has been working for the plastics packaging industry in the board of directors of the IK. In 1997, he was elected treasurer of the association and became president in 2002. He has been holding this post since then. Since 2006, he has also been vice president of the Association for Plastics Processing Industries (GKV). In 2008, he was elected head of the Trade Association for European Plastics Converters (EuPC).

In addition, Mr. Borgardt is vice president of the trade fair advisory board for interpack 2011. For many years, he has been a committed president of the employer association in Stade.

Mr. Borgardt is fluent in several languages and is much in demand nationally and internationally as a speaker and interview partner for matters regarding the European plastics industry.
