Rexam wins "Greener Package Award"
Rexam is being recognized for being "green," winning the "Greener Package Award" for its 100% recyclable liquid prescription oval.
The Greener Package Awards recognize companies who have made an outstanding contribution to the field of sustainable package design. They are North America's only independent, neutral, sustainable packaging awards competition not affiliated with any supplier or company.
A panel of 21 judges from the Greener Package Expert Network judged the 51 entries on criteria such as innovation, source reduction, transportation, material sourcing and other ecological factors. Rexam's product was one of just ten to win this prestigious recognition.
Rexam was the first packaging company to develop a liquid prescription oval made with 100% postconsumer recycled PET resin. Because the package can be recycled again and again, it helps to further reduce resource consumption and environmental impact. It meets all relevant government standards, and is a great choice for pharmacists and consumers looking to go "green."
"We are proud to have our sustainable packaging efforts recognized with this award," said Pat O'Connell, vice president of sales for Rexam Prescription. "This is part of our continued drive to deliver full packaging solutions that help our customers build their businesses, and ultimately establish Rexam as the leader in the pharmacy prescription market."
The winners of the Greener Packaging Awards will be on display this month at the Showcase of Packaging Innovations® at PACK EXPO in Las Vegas.
