About packaging - For packaging

Major UK retailer Sainsbury’s has recently launched its fresh blueberries in Amcor PushPop

With the introduction of this new packaging concept, consumers can not only open the pack easily but they are also able to wash the fruits without removing the product from the pack due to incorporated holes at the bottom of the pack.

“Amcor PushPop helps us meet our customers' needs. The pack is easy to open, easy to use and it allows us to reduce the packaging weight by 75%. Incorporating holes at the bottom of the pack further increases customer convenience as now you don't have to put the blueberries into a bowl to wash them,” explains Stuart Lendrum, Packaging Manager at Sainsbury’s.

Today’s consumers want packaging solutions which are tamper evident, easy to open and easy to use. Amcor PushPop allows Sainsbury's customers to just push in the special perforation on the top of the pack, pop the pack open, and enjoy their blueberries directly from the pack.

Amcor PushPop is ideal for a wide range of fresh produce. It is perfect for single use fresh produce or can be used to replace trays and punnets. The stackable Amcor PushPop stands up nicely in the fridge and offers excellent on-shelf product differentiation as the entire surface can be printed, including the top and the bottom of the pack.

So this spring and summer, enjoy Sainsbury's blueberries out of Amcor PushPop.
