Crown Increases Capacity in Belgium to Meet Growing Market Demand for Aerosols
Crown Holdings, Inc. announces the installation of a new 65mm diameter aerosol production line in its Antwerp, Belgium facility. The addition means 60% of the plant's capacity is now dedicated to manufacturing aerosol cans for industrial products like polyurethane-foam (PU-foam), technical cleaners, oils and paints.
"Germany has experienced significant growth in demand for industrial aerosols in recent years, in part because of higher energy costs driving consumers to better insulate their homes with products like PU-foam," says Luc Bosschaerts, Sales Director for CROWN Aerosols Europe. "The installation of an additional production line in our Antwerp plant ensures that we can continue to deliver the high level of quality and service our customers expect. In addition, we anticipated the need for additional capacity in this diameter and reacted swiftly to the market need."
The environmental advantages of steel are a contributing factor in the format's continued popularity. Aerosol cans are universally recycled with high return rates and the metal used in the package can be recycled infinitely with no degradation in quality. Today's steel aerosol cans contain an average of 56% recycled content in Europe
The facility also produces 52mm and 57mm diameter aerosol cans. The plant, in line with CROWN Aerosols Europe's flexible manufacturing approach, produces aerosol cans for delivery to most Western, Central and Eastern European countries.
