Crew takes top post at Sabic Innovative Plastics
Charlie Crew, a long serving GE Plastics veteran, has been appointed president and ceo of Sabic Innovative Plastics with immediate effect. He replaces Brian Gladden, who is taking up a senior role at Dell Computer.
Crew, who joined GE Plastics in 1977, numbers several key roles in his career including ceo of top compounder LNP, general manager of the Cycolac and Geloy resins businesses and senior managing director of GE Plastics Europe. Most recently, he has been vp and general manager of Sabic IP’s global ventures business.
Mohamed Al-Mady, ceo of Sabic, which acquired the former GE Plastics business last year, said: “We are pleased to name a proven influential leader such as Charlie as president and ceo of our thermoplastics business.”
He added: “This internal promotion underscores the depth of our management team and the strength of our succession plan.”
