Sonoco-Alcore to increase U.K. paperboard prices
Sonoco-Alcore S.a.r.l. today announced it will raise prices by 25 GBP per ton on all paperboard grades in the United Kingdom effective with shipments on or after January 28, 2008, it was announced today by Eddie L. Smith, Sonoco vice president—Industrial Products and Paper, Europe.
"The rapid increase in the cost for energy, transportation, starch and other raw materials, particularly in the United Kingdom, has made it necessary for us to recover these inflationary expenses," said Smith.
Sonoco-Alcore S.a.r.l. is wholly-owned by Sonoco (NYSE:SON) and operates 30 tube and core plants and six paper mills on the European continent and in the United Kingdom.
