Basell increases sponsorship commitment to Indian Petrochem

Basell, the global leader in polyolefins technology, production and marketing, will be a “Platinum” sponsor of Indian Petrochem, the international conference on petrochemicals in Mumbai, this month and for the next two years.

The 9th Indian Petrochem, will take place November 19 and 20 at the Leela Kempinski Hotel, where Indian and international petrochemical experts will deliberate the outlook and challenges facing the industry.

“Our company has been a regular sponsor of the Indian Petrochem since 2003 and we are very pleased to have a more significant role in such an important industry event that is so vital to the rapidly growing petrochemicals industry in India,” said Frank Kao, senior vice president, Sales and Marketing, Basell International.

He added: “Basell and its predecessor companies have been a leading importer of polyolefins and licensor of proprietary process and catalyst technologies for polyolefins manufacturing in the Indian market since 1992.”

At Indian Petrochem 2007, Basell’s leading-edge polyolefin technologies will be showcased and there will be company presentations on two topics:

• Advanced technology for gas-phase polyethylene manufacturing
• Polypropylene catalysts systems that add value to PP processes and products

Indian Petrochem is jointly organised by the Chemicals & Petrochemicals Manufacturers’ Association of India and Elite Conferences.
