The Ukrainian PVC Market Increased In Five Times During Last Seven Years
According to the data of MRC, the average annual growth of PVC consumption in Ukraine made up 28% during the recent seven years; the overall PVC consumption in 2006 increased five times comparing with 2000.
Right up to the end of 2005 Ukrainian PVC processors had depended on PVC-S supplies from Russia. In 2006, the lack of PVC-S in the Russian market brought in significant adjustments into the PVC-S consumption structure. Companies from Eastern Europe and Southeastern Asia took over positions of Russian manufacturers in terms of PVC supplies.
MRC analysts point out three leaders in PVC-S supplies to Ukraine in 2006: LG Chem, Anwil and BorsodChem. Following the coming of the Chinese resin (Qilu, Hunan) in the third quarter 2006, there appeared resin of another Korean company – Hanwha Corporation – at the end of the year.
The biggest investments into PVC processing were recorded in 2006. In accordance with the data of MRC, the leading suppliers of PVC processing equipment today are Xinhing Twin Screw Machinery (China), Krauss Maffei (Germany), Cincinnati (Austria), Technoplast (Austria) and Weber (Germany).
