Flower life extended with Ulma's unique wrapping solution
Ulma Packaging Ltd, has perfected a solution for wrapping up flowers into sealed bunches and bouquets. The innovative solution uses the company's PV-350LSHiX flow wrapping machine and can extend the shelf-life of the flowers by a further two to three days.
Two packaging solutions are offered on the PV-350LSHiX, each offering controlled atmosphere environments, which is the secret behind the longer flower life. In the first solution the film is offered in a fixed size, which is ideal for pre-cut flowers, the second packaging method is ideal for random length flowers and the film is cut to the required length by the Ulma PV-350LSHiX.
Capable of operating at speeds of up to 50 packs per minute, the machine can even accommodate labelling on the top and bottom of the pack.
One of the reasons Ulma developed the PV-350LSHiX for this kind of packaging is the machine's ability to easily handle the wrapping of irregular and difficult to convey products. The machine can cope with a maximum film width of up to 1000mm and has a jaw width of 400mm - making it suitable for even bridal bouquets.
