Demand for rigid bulk packaging in the US is expected to expand 3.3 percent per year to $7.2 billion in 2020, spurred primarily by a favorable production outlook for chemicals and pharmaceuticals, the largest market for rigid bulk packaging products.
US demand for food containers is projected to increase 2.8 percent per year to more than $31 billion in 2020. Major trends include a general shift from rigid packaging formats to flexible containers, efforts to improve both the reality and optics of sustainability initiatives, and increased use of package revisions to reignite interest in sluggish product categories.
