Somersby cider now in 1 litre bottle

The popular SomersbyTM cider bottling range is to be expanded in the run-up to the new season. Starting from April 2014 customers will be able to enjoy the refreshing subtlety of Somersby cider in new original elegant 1 litre PET bottle.

On March 27, 2014, Somersby cider was first bottled using the new 1 litre PET bottle at the Carlsberg Ukraine Kyiv brewery. The cider in its new format bottles will hit the stores across Ukraine in April. The recommended price for the novelty is UAH 18.50-19.50.

Cider is well known in Europe where it has been popular for over three hundred years. The origins of the natural cider market segment in Ukraine can be traced back to 2011 when SomersbyTM entered the local market. By spring 2014, Somersby cider had already been presented in 0.33 l and 0.5 l glass bottles as well as in kegs. Now the customers have an opportunity to enjoy their favourite drink in 1 l PET bottles.

It should be mentioned that at the moment Somersby is an uncontested leader of the cider segment with its volume share in Ukrainian market amounting to 75.6% according to AC Nielsen Data. Such high figures are attributable to the increasing popularity of cider category in general and its top-of-the-range brand SomersbyTM in particular as well as to the product's fine taste and excellent quality. All in all, in 2013 the amount of brand sales in the market increased by 25% if compared with 2012 figures.

Somersby cider is made from genuine apple juice by natural fermentation with no artificial flavours or colourings, moderately sweet with refreshing taste and pleasant flavour. Alcohol contain is 4.7%.
