LINPAC Packaging’s new premium film turns up the heat – in the kitchen
A new premium ‘cut-to-size’, ovenable film from LINPAC Packaging will allow chefs and caterers to serve up more naturally flavoured meals and drive up efficiency in the kitchen.
LINcook is the first ‘cookable’ foodservice film from Europe’s leading multi-material packaging manufacturer, and is an alternative to the traditional roasting bag.
Supplied in boxes of 20 rolls – each containing 50m of film and complete with ties to create a pouch – LINcook removes the need for caterers to stock large quantities of pre-made cooking bags in various sizes. Instead, the film can be cut to the required size to suit the particular food item that’s to be cooked.
Other benefits of using the film include a shorter cooking time – saving on gas or electricity, a cleaner oven after cooking – as juices remain within the film ‘parcel’, and food cooks in its own juices so there is no need to add oil or butter – making the finished dish healthier and giving it a more natural flavour. LINcook also prevents food from burning, as it is not in direct contact with the heat source.
Alan Westbury of LINPAC Packaging said: “This is a high quality, premium, new product from LINPAC Packaging which will bring some fantastic benefits to large-scale caterers.
“Rather than having to stock up on numerous, various-sized oven bags, this single roll of film will serve all needs – whatever the food product the film can be cut to fit it. This is not only more cost-effective but is also much more efficient as it means less waste.
“The launch of LINcook marks a ‘first’ for LINPAC too. This is the first time we have created a product that can be used in the oven. We are very pleased with the results and it demonstrates our commitment to being a multi-material manufacturer – providing customers with the packaging solutions they need.”
Each roll contains film measuring 50m x 50cm, of 12µ thickness, with 48 blue ties made from PET. There are 20 rolls in a box and 420 rolls can be supplied on a pallet.
