Innovative LPF Flexibles helps secure award for diving drink

A pioneering divers’ drinking pouch created using market-leading materials and expertise supplied by LPF Flexibles has picked up an award at a major diving exhibition.

The Dive and Drink concept features specifically-designed laminates that allow for liquids to remain protected during compression which occurs as divers go deep under water. An opening which ensures the liquid can only be removed when the diver requires was also created by LPF Flexibles.

It is the latest example of the innovative multi-layer pouches created by LPF Flexibles, which is a global supplier to the food, confectionary, beverage, pharmaceutical and beauty markets.

As well as multi-layer laminates, LPF Flexibles is also a leading producer of high-barrier lidding films, form and seal films and microwave packaging which provide a complete service to customers.

The Dive and Drink pouch has been tested at depths of 100m and picked up the Best New Product award at the Duikvaker (Dive More Often) exhibition in Holland, which attracts thousands of diving enthusiasts from across Europe.

The project was overseen by Gerard Oijnhausen, Managing Director of the World Organisation of Scuba Diving (WOSD). He said: “The laminate materials used for Dive and Drink play an integral part in creating a successful and useful product and I am delighted with LPF Flexible’s involvement in what is a really popular invention with divers.”
