LDPE imports down 21% in Ukraine in January-February

The most serious decrease was in imports of Belarusian LDPE (-63%). There was an interruption in operations of Belarusian refineries at the beginning of the year because of changes in terms of supply of Russian oil.
There was a serious decrease in imports of Russian material in February. In view of LDPE shortage in the Russian market, imports of Russian feedstock went down by more than two times compared to January 2010.
Ukrainian companies were compensating lack of Russian and Belarusian material by increasing supply from Europe. In February, imports of European LDPE increased more than 1.5 times compared to January.
