Polypropylene demand down 10% in Ukraine
Over the course of January-August, polypropylene demand in Ukraine went down by 10%, compared to the same period last year, and moved at 67.24 kt – according to MRC’s analysts.
Absence of Linos’ material in the domestic market and decreased PP-homo imports (nearly by 40%, compared to July) caused lack of feedstock in the market.
PP-homo output volumes remain at the level of the previous year. During the first ten-day period of August, the Ukrainian PP producer suspended production temporarily due to problems with feedstock. In view of the five-day idle time, overall PP output decreased 12% at the end of the month, compared to July.
