Polypropylene demand remains flat in Russia
Over the course of January-July, polypropylene (PP) demand remained similar compared to the same period last year, and moved at 344.3 kt – according to MRC’s analysts.
PP-homo exports increased three times. China is still the most priority exports market. 68% of overall PP-homo exports are shipped to that country. However, exports began to go down gradually in July. Exports to China dropped by 23% in July, compared to the previous month, in view of the saturated Chinese market.
The first signs of PP undersupply became apparent in the Russian market in July. Lack of material mainly affected small converters, whereas large companies had sufficient stocks.
