Transparent meat packaging – very durable with recycled content

It’s not easy being 500g of minced meat these days. You need to be lean, stay looking good, store well, and protect the environment. MAPET® packaging from Faerch Plast can meet these demands – and more.

MAPET® packaging has been especially developed for MAP pre-packed meat so producers, retailers, and consumers can be sure that even through meat juice contamination, a good seal is achieved at packing and seal integrity maintained through to consumer use. Non-stop-production and high food safety are keywords for food producers, and Faerch Plast has developed MAPET® especially to meet these needs. In addition, MAPET® trays have been designed to allow more products in the chill counter, and occupy less space in the storeroom before use.

All Faerch Plast’s meat packaging is made from mono material. This lets us use or reuse over 99 per cent of raw materials in production, resulting in minimal waste. Furthermore, we have added up to 50% recycled, food contact approved Post Consumer Waste to our virgin raw material. We are continually working to implement new methods and materials which can minimise the packaging’s environmental impact,” says Michael Gotfredsen. “So far it has gone extremely well – we have reduced our energy consumption per tonne of trays produced by 35 per cent since 1996, and we are constantly working to optimise the raw materials in our production.”
