GENUS is the first to market with new airless HVDS

Genus, which supplies the NHS and the retail pharmacy sector, has relaunched Cetraben, an emollient cream for dermatological conditions, in the new Airless HVDS dispenser, citing its superior product evacuation as the key factor behind the switch to the new dispenser.

The Airless HVDS has been specifically designed for the pharmaceutical sector, in particular creams and other products that have a very high viscosity and are therefore extremely difficult to dispense effectively.

This inability of creams and lotions to self-level means that conventional pumps tend to draw product from the centre of the container leaving large amounts of residue clinging to the side. As a result, containers are left with product that cannot be accessed, a major consumer disadvantage particularly for high cost creams.

Airless HVDS uses a combination of airless and piston-up technology to push product up from the bottom of the container. This new technology delivers superior performance compared to standard pumps and follower-plate-down systems to achieve at least 98% evacuation. Another innovation of the new system is its ability to dispense large pack quantities.

Consumer convenience features include tamper-evidence and a special suckback system that pulls a small amount of cream back into the pump, leaving a clean spout after every dispense.

In addition to the 500g Airless HVDS, Genus is also using Rieke Dispensing’s 150g and 50g Airless Dispensers for smaller handy size packs of Cetraben.
